The Foundation level course is suitable for anyone who is involved in software testing, such as testers, test engineers, test analysts, test consultants, test managers, IT professionals, user acceptance testers and software developers. Those who need to understand the testing process, such as project managers, quality managers, business analysts, directors and consultants can also benefit from this training.
On completion of the training, you will be able to:
Testers who want to demonstrate knowledge and skills in globally accepted testing processes can undertake the ISTQB® Certifications, which are accepted as the de facto industry qualifications for the software testing profession.
On completing the ISTQB® Foundation Core certificate, you are eligible to continue on to higher level software testing qualifications - the Core Advanced level and then the Expert level. You can also attempt the Agile Tester exam or get one of the Specialist certifications.
According to the official website, you can either sit for the latest ISTQB Foundation Level 4.0 exam or appear for the previous ISTQB Foundation Level 3.1 exam after taking the course. You can take the Level 3.1 exam through May 9th, 2024.
The latest or newest version that was released in 2023 is version 4.0 of the ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL). The 4.0 version has since replaced the older 3.1 version that was released in 2018.
