The PMBOK® Guide refers to PMI's Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge® , PMI’s flagship publication which is a fundamental resource for effective project management in any industry.
The book includes The Standard for Project Management. The standard is the foundation upon which the vast body of knowledge builds, and the guide serves to capture and summarize that knowledge.
The latest version is the Seventh Edition, published in July 2021.
The PMBOK® Guide is a great resource and an extremely useful one to master project management skills.
Please note that the PMBOK® Guide, 7th Edition does not impact the PMP® Exam Prep Training Material, which has been developed to align to the PMP Exam Content Outline. It is important to note that the current PMP exam is based on the Exam Content Outline, dated January 2021, and not on the PMBOK® Guide. The Exam Content Outline summarizes the research conducted to create the PMP® exam and includes the most critical tasks required for project managers to master in their role.
Yes, you will receive a course completion certificate from KnowledgeHut on successfully completing the course.

Along with fulfilling eligibility requirements, professionals typically take between 2 to 4 months to prepare for the exam.

Renewing your certification enables you to demonstrate your commitment to continuing professional development. It also demonstrates the value of your knowledge in project management to employers, peers and colleagues.
Below are the steps to renew your PMP certification.
Ways to earn PDUS;
PDUs are Professional Development Units issued by the Project Management Institute®. They can be earned by completing educational training or learning opportunities, which serve to validate your participation and continued proficiency in the principles and practices of project management.
PDUs are the measuring unit used to quantify your professional development as part of the PMI’s Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program. 1 PDU = 1 hour of learning/activity.
PDUs recognize your dedication to the project management world through the award of credits for every educational effort you make throughout your career. PDUs are offered by the PMI®, and every PMI certification, except the CAPM®, requires you to earn a specific number of PDUs per three-year certification cycle.
You will be eligible for 35 PDUs on course completion that can be used for recertification from PMI® Inc.
You can earn PDUs by attending training programs offered by PMI Authorized Training Partners or by organizations or universities. Whenever you attend a PMI congress, webinar, conference or any other event or indulge in self-directed learning, you can earn PDUs.
You can start earning and recording PDUs as soon as you earn a PMI certification. Any activities you have completed before earning your certification will not count as PDUs for your newly acquired certification.
Yes, you can transfer PDUs to your next certification cycle if you have earned PDUs above the required total of 60 for PMP, in the last year of your 3-year certification cycle. The PDUs you earned in the first two years cannot be utilized in a future cycle. Further details can be found in the PMP Handbook.
No, you do not need to submit any supporting documentation to report new PDUs. However, it is recommended that you keep a folder of all PDU-related documentation handy for at least 18 months post your Continual Certification Requirement (CCR) cycle, so it is readily available should you be randomly selected for an audit.
You can find out more about PDUs in PMI’s FAQs.

KnowledgeHut is right by your side throughout your certification process. Right from your enrollment for the PMP training program, you will receive comprehensive assistance for PMI registration and membership and review and submission of your PMP exam application.
Should your application get selected for the audit process, you will have 90 days to gather and submit all certificates and documentation to substantiate your project management experience and project management-related education; proper verification for the project experience listed in the application must be provided. If a PMP audit fails, PMI’s Certification Department will take further actions depending on the specific case.
You will need to get a colleague, peer, client or sponsor verify programs and/or projects that you were the manager or supervisor for. The person would need to have sufficient knowledge of the project to be able to verify your project management experience.
No, PMI will retain the documentation submitted as per its internal auditing procedures.

PMI® rolled out new changes to the PMP exam based on thorough research into how the project management profession has evolved since the last changes made in 2015. Three significant changes include:
1. PMP Exam Format
The new exam is comprised of 180 questions, which need to be answered within 230 minutes (one additional break for a total of two 10-minute breaks for computer-based tests; no scheduled breaks for paper-based exams). Questions will be a combination of multiple-choice, multiple responses, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank.
2. PMP Exam Content
While the old exam focused mainly on the stages of a project, the new one encompasses everything and everyone involved, namely:
PEOPLE – 42% of items on the exam, emphasizing the skills and activities associated with effectively leading a project team.
PROCESS – 50% of items on the exam, reinforcing the technical aspects of managing a project.
BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT – 8% of items on the exam, highlighting the connection between projects and organization strategy.
3. Exam Preparation
Through its Authorized Training Partners (ATP), PMI is making available its digital resources for exam preparation. When you enrol for KnowledgeHut's PMP training, you will receive comprehensive exam preparation support.
You can learn more about the 2021 PMP Exam Content Outline here.
PMI takes about 5 days to carry out an Application Completeness Review. If selected for the audit process, you will have 90 days to submit your audit materials. PMI processes audit materials within 5 to 7 days.
There is no re-evaluation for the PMP exam. However, if you fail you can attend the exam again. Ensure that you use the remaining two attempts within a year of your eligibility period. If you don’t, you cannot fill the PMP exam application form for a year. If you still fail the remaining two attempts, you have to wait for a year from your last exam attempt before you can re-apply and write the exam.
You can retake the exam if you fail, provided your next attempt is within your eligibility period of 1 year.
If you have already passed the test, you will not be able to take it again to receive a better score.
Your web-based exam results will be visible to you immediately upon completion of the exam.
You can attempt the exam a maximum of 3 times within your eligibility period of 1 year.
