We are an REA of Scrum Alliance and these programs will be conducted by Certified Scrum Trainers (CSTs) who will help you further strengthen your Scrum fundamentals while also gaining the required educational units to make you eligible for the CSP credential.

Certification

Prerequisites:

To become a Certified Scrum Professional® ScrumMaster (CSP-SM) or Product Owner (CSP-PO), you must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be a current holder of an active Advanced Certified ScrumMasterSM (A-CSMSM) or Advanced Certified Scrum Product OwnerSM (A-CSPOSM) credential.
  • Successfully complete all educator-designed components of an approved educational offering.
  • Have a minimum of 24 months of work experience specific to the role of ScrumMaster or Product Owner (from within the past five years).

If you have an active CSD certification then you need to fulfil these criteria to earn your CSP

  • Have a minimum of 36 months of successful Agile/Scrum work experience from within the past 5 years implementing Scrum inside organizations as team member, Product Owner, ScrumMaster, or "Other." (Provide details for "Other" in the "How did you use Scrum on this job" field at the bottom of the Work Experience section of your profile page. Align your experience to the basic Scrum roles as much as possible.)
  • Gather and submit 70 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) from the past three years. Note that SEUs earned from your CSD certification (up to 24 SEUs) will put you well on your way. Your CSD training can be more than three years old. All other SEUs need to have been earned within the past three years.
Certification:
  • Once you fulfil the eligibility criteria and acquire the required SEUs, you need to fill up your CSP application and complete your profile.
  • Once all your required information is filled in, the "Pay $100 Application Fee and Submit" button will appear.
  • When your payment is processed, your application is reviewed which may take upto 3 weeks
  • Once your application is approved you have to pay a $150 certification fee and when this is received Scrum Alliance will add the CSP certification to your account

To RENEW CSP, again SEUs need to be accumulated:

Renewing in 2018:  USD 250 and 40 SEUs (collected within the past two years)

Renewing in 2019 and beyond: USD 350 and 60 SEUs (collected within the past two years)

Existing CSMs, CSPOs and CSDs who want to add a milestone to their Scrum journey will find this credential beneficial.

CSP is the next level of expertise in Agile and Scrum after CSM, CSD and CSPO. This certification can be a stepping stone for further niche qualifications such as Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC) and Certified Team Coach (CTC). This credential will reflect your vast knowledge and experience of Scrum and also validate your commitment to continuous improvement.

Eligibility Criteria for CSP:

To become a Certified Scrum Professional® ScrumMaster (CSP-SM) or Product Owner (CSP-PO), you must satisfy following eligibility criteria:

  • Be a current holder of an active Advanced Certified ScrumMasterSM (A-CSMSM) or Advanced Certified Scrum Product OwnerSM (A-CSPOSM) credential.
  • Successfully complete all educator-designed components of an approved educational offering.

If you satisfy the prerequisites, then you can apply on the Scrum Alliance website, pay the fee and once your application is accepted, you will receive the certification.
There is no exam for CSP certification.

The total fee is $250 which is split up like this :

  1. $100 for review and process your application.
  2. $150 for getting your CSP certificate once its approved.

No, the CSP certification needs to be renewed every 2 years. The renewal fee is $250.

The minimum time to get the certification is two weeks provided your application sails through without any review comments or follow ups. In case it comes in a review, it will take two more weeks to get review comments cleared.
